ベンズイミダゾール系薬剤による犬ジアルジア症の治療

要　　　　　約 　下痢を伴った犬ジアルジア症の臨床例26頭を，海外でその有効性が確認されている3つのベンズイミダゾール系薬剤で治療した．治療に使用したベンズイミダゾール系薬剤は，フェバンテル合剤（8頭，フェバンテルとして30mg/kgを1日1回3日間経口投与），アルベンダゾール（7頭，25mg/kgを1日2回2日間経口投与），またはフェンベンダゾール（11頭，50mg/kgを1日1回3日間経口投与）である．すべての症例で，これらの薬剤の1クールまたは2クール投与により糞便中のジアルジアが陰性となり，下痢症状も消失した．副作用は，フェバンテル合剤で一時的な流涎が1例で観察された以外には認められなかった．今回使用したベンズイミダゾール系薬剤は，日本国内の犬ジアルジア症の治療にも有効であることが示唆された． ―キーワード：ベンズイミダゾール，犬，ジアルジア症． --------------------日獣会誌　55，739〜743（2002） Treatment of Canine Giardiasis with Benzimidazoles Naoyuki ITOH＊†, Noboru MURAOKA, Mikiko AOKI, Tadashi ITAGAKI and Sayako ITOH ＊Kamome Veterinary Clinic, 7-9-2932 Sozen Nishi, Hashikami, Sannohe 039-1212, Japan SUMMARY 　Twenty-six clinical cases of canine giardiasis with histories of diarrhea were treated with three benzimidazoles recognized as effective in overseas―a febantel combination (8 cases, 30 mg/kg of body weight, once a day for 3 days, orally), albendazole (7 cases, 25 mg/kg of body weight, twice a day for 2 days orally), or fenbendazole (11 cases, 50 mg/kg of body weight, once a day for 3 days, orally). In all cases, one or two administration courses of benzimidazoles eliminated fecal Giardias and clinical signs of diarrhea. Except for one case of temporary salivation when the febantel combination was administered, no general side effects were observed.
