サラブレッドの喉頭片麻痺の診断には，安静時における上気道の内視鏡検査のほかに，近年ではトレッドミル走行時の内視鏡検査も実施されている．しかし，トレッドミル走行時の上気道の内視鏡検査には，患馬の検査への馴致，客観性の問題などさまざまな問題点が残されている．著者らは，喉頭片麻痺に起因する気道閉塞の程度を，トレッドミル走行時の気管内圧測定および上気道の内視鏡検査により比較検討し，気管内圧測定が，喉頭片麻痺に起因する気道閉塞の程度を客観的に評価できるかを検討した．その結果 ，気管内圧，特に吸気圧が喉頭片麻痺の程度により有意に増加し，それに起因する気道閉塞の程度を，気管内圧の測定により客観的に評価できることが示唆された． ―キーワード：内視鏡検査，喉頭片麻痺，サラブレッド，気管内圧，トレッドミル． --------------------日獣会誌　53，668〜672（2000） Usefulness of Tracheal-pressure Measurements in Diagnoses of Laryngeal Hemiplegia in Thoroughbreds Seiji HOBO＊ and Hiroko AIDA ＊Equine Research Institute, Japan Racing Association, 321h4 Tokami-cho, Utsunomiya 320h0856, Japan SUMMARY   In recent years, to diagnose laryngeal hemiplegia in thoroughbred horses, endoscopic examinations of the upper respiratory tract have been performed while the animal is exercising on a treadmill, as well as during periods of rest. Measurements of tracheal pressure during exercise are useful in assessing tracheal obstruction.
