野鳥に発生したクマリン中毒

要　　　　　約 　1999年3月，約50羽の死亡した野鳥が盛岡市近郊のリンゴ園内で発見された．園内には多量 の廃棄されたリンゴが堆積され，その多くに野鳥の採食痕を認め，一部に青色の化学物質が付着していた．剖検では，リンゴ粕が口腔から腺胃にかけての上部消化管内に貯留し，口角にも付着していた．また，上部消化管は弛緩していた．胸腔内の肝臓付着部における凝固不全を伴った出血と眼底の充血を全例に認めた．さらに出血は皮膚，骨格筋，前頭骨にもみられた．8例の病理組織所見では全例に，肺，腺胃および脈絡膜の充・出血と全身のうっ血が観察された．疫学臨床および病理所見からクマリン中毒が疑われたため，化学物質が付着したリンゴ1検体，肝臓8検体，腎臓1検体，胃内容物1検体を材料として，高速液体クロマトグラフィ−でクマテトラリルを分析した．その結果 ，各検体から0.2〜10.9ppmのクマテトラリルが検出された． ―キーワード：クマリン中毒，クマテトラリル，野鳥． --------------------日獣会誌　53，215〜217（2000） Coumarin Poisoning of Wild Birds by Rodenticides Takashi ASANO, Yoshisato YOSHIKAWA, Makiko MURAKAMI, Shinichi KUMAGAI, Masaru KONNO, Masato MOTOKAWA, Gakuji YAEGASHI and Atsushi CHIBA Morioka Livestock Hygiene Service Center, 389-7 Sunagome, Takizawa, Iwate 020-0173, Japan SUMMARY 　Epidemiological investigations were carried out on coumarin poisoning of wild birds in an apple farm in the city of Morioka, Japan, in March 1999. Numerous apples polluted by a blue chemical compound were found scattered on the ground together with about 50 bird carcasses. Necropsy showed hemorrhagic spots on the skin, skeletal muscles, and frontal bones and thoracic cavities filled with hypo-coagulative clots. Hyperemia of the conjunctiva and food-caused dilation and atony of the upper digestive tract were recorded. Histopathological studies demonstrated hemorrhagic changes in the lungs, the glandular stomach, and the choroid. Systemic congestion was observed in all of the 8 cases examined. High-performance liquid chromatography performed on an affected apple, bird livers, kidneys, and gastric contents showed from 0.2 to 10.9 ppm of coumatetralyl in each sample.
