犬の前頭部髄膜腫の1手術例

要　　　　　約 　全身性痙攣発作および左旋回歩行を主訴とした犬（セッター，雄，4歳，20kg）に，両後肢膝蓋腱反射の亢進，脳脊髄液蛋白量と総細胞数の増加，パンディテスト陽性所見を認め，MRI検査で左前頭部に不整形腫瘤（径約30mm）が認められた．腫瘤を外科的に摘出して病理組織学的に検索したところ，小型紡錘形細胞の渦紋状増殖と砂粒体形成がみられ，髄膜腫と診断された．術後経過は順調であったが，5カ月後に全身性痙攣発作の重積状態に陥り死亡した． ―キーワード：犬，髄膜腫，脳神経外科． --------------------日獣会誌　52，437〜440（1999） A Surgical Case of Canine Frontal Meningioma Motoji MOROZUMI*, Kazuyuki UCHIDA, Hitoshi MAKINO, Norio SAITO, Atsuko SAITO and Masato KUWABARA *Togasaki Animal Clinic, 2-160-4 Togasaki, Misato 341-0044, Japan SUMMARY 　A 4-year-old male setter dog weighing 20 kg with depression, intermittent severe generalized seizure and circling to the left, was neurologically revealed to have exaggerated reflexes of both patellar tendons and elevated protein content and total cell count in the cerebrospinal fluid (CSF). The CSF Pandyﾕs test was positive, and magnetic resonance images demonstrated an irregular shaped mass, approximately 30 mm in diameter, in the left forebrain. The surgically removed mass histopathologically consisted of proliferated small spindle-shaped cells with whorl arrangement and occasional psammoma bodies, and was diagnosed as meningioma.
