7.2%高張食塩液(HSS:2,400mOsmol/kg・H2O)5ml/kgまたは15ml/kgを各3頭の未経産牛に200ml/分の速度で静脈内投与し,投与開始後120分までの血清中および尿中Na,K,Clイオン濃度と尿量を0.9%生理食塩液(ISS:300mOsmol/kg・H2O)投与牛のそれと比較検討した.HSS
5ml/kg投与例の血清Na濃度は投与開始後5分に最高値を示した.HSS 15ml/kg投与では投与終了時から試験終了時まで160mmol/l以上の高ナトリウム血症が持続した.観察中の総尿量はISS,HSS-5ml/kgおよび15ml/kg投与各群において298.7±37.7,3,599.7±273.6および12,193.7±1,205.8mlであった.以上の結果から,5ml/kgのHSS静脈内投与は高ナトリウム血症を誘発することなく投与できる一方,排尿量が投与液量の2.75倍となることから,HSS投与後速やかに牛に飲水させることが必要と考えられた. --------------------日獣会誌 52,90〜94(1999)

SUMMARY Serum and urine electrolyte (Na+/K+/Cl−) concentrations and urine
excretion volume were observed for 120 min after infusion in heifers infused with hypertonic saline solution
(HSS; 2,400 mOsmol/kg・H2O) as compared to those given isotonic saline solution (ISS; 300 mOsmol/kg・H2O).
Five minutes after infusion of 5 ml/kg HSS a transient high-sodium levels (155.7±3.5 mmol/l) in serum
was induced without persistent hypernatremia. After 15 ml/kg HSS infusion, however, hypernatremia (>160
mmol/l) was induced in all cases. Total urine volume in ISS-given heifers during the experiment period
was 298.7±37.7ml. But it was progressively and significantly increased in those infused with 5 ml/kg
or 15 ml/kg of HSS, reaching 3,599.7±273.6 and 12,193.7±1,205.8ml, respectively. It was recommended that
